Education, jobs, incomes, and budgets.

Good day grandchildren,

It has been a while since I wrote to you, but things have been hectic here at the ranch.  Grandma and I have spent a lot of time at the various doctors getting problems straightened out.  My sleep apnea testing is taking time, hopefully the treatment improves my general health.  For sure these kidney stones have been a real pain for grandma.  And the present series of treatments will continue for several months longer.  But enough of that subject for now.

I would like to talk about education, jobs, incomes, and budgets.  The last, the budget, is vital.  You need to know how much you can spend to stay solvent, that is not to go bankrupt.  It is very important if you are running a cat café or publishing books both with cyclic income, but with routine costs.  Then there is the subject of income, you need to have some idea of what income you can expect from certain jobs or businesses, the café or publishing a book.  For most jobs starting salaries are discussed and offered, but what can you expect in a longer term.  And actually do you care?  That is where the budget becomes important.  We have to balance the two, income and expenses, on a continuous basis.  As the draft budget we sent to Addisson, every month certain items are due, it is a fact of life.  Taxes are discussed in the Bible and are still here.  Paul wrote most of the New Testament and many people think of him as only an intenerate preacher.  A noble and Godly profession then and still today.  But if you read the chapters he wrote, he states that he earned his living and provided for most of his helpers with his own hands.  He was a tent maker a skilled craftsman of the time.  People still lived in tents at that time and these tents would be large, like the current glamor safari tents or the pictured Armbruster event tent above.  This craft of his would require buying tent material, threads, tools to cut and sew, and finding and working with customers.  And yes, he would have had taxes also.  The other disciples were all workers, fishermen and tax collectors for two jobs that I know of.

So Paul is an excellent example of a skilled worker or craftsman with a very different profession.  I would suggest that today we have WAY too many professionals with no ability to perform a skilled craft and make a living from it for themselves and their families.  This makes them a captive of their profession.  A teacher or professor who has no skilled craft that they could do and support themselves is trapped in the education system, school or college.  Do what the government or school management says, or loose your job and most of the time your only source of income.  This kills your budget, and you know it.  The debts you owe will come due and you will not be able to pay.  The house, the car, anything bought on credit.  DONE.

So what can be done today, welding is a skill your father learned and enjoyed and used, commercial diving is another.  Welders will be around for a long time and it pays well, we can discuss these options later.  And these jobs are in addition to any education that you might obtain.  I read a quote today, "She quit the academic program because it wasn't as fulfilling as she'd hoped, and she didn't think she'd make enough extra money later to justify it."  So, going to college is expensive, and can be well worth it in many cases, but not all.  And creativity and personality are not taught in college and you all have both of these.

I will write later about some of the other items.

The Short Cease Fire

 Good day children,

Back to the current crisis, Israel destroying Hamas - I want to again discuss the ongoing war in the middle east.  Humas attached Israel, Israel responded and is, as much as possible, going to destroy Hamas, and now there is a temporary peace fire while the kidnapped Israelis are traded for terrorists.  Some people are arguing that Israel does not value Palestinian lives as they are trading at 3 to 1 for their kidnapped victims.  Just another media ploy to make Israel look bad in the world’s view, the ratio is not that important as I believe Israel fully intends to kill all the Humas terrorists before this conflict is over.  And again, this is not a new war, the players are different, but the war has existed since sin showed up in creation.

This is about the battle between God and sin.  Not that all the Arabs are sinners, but if you are not born again and on God’s side, accepting Him, through Jesus Christ, as your Redeemer you are on the sin side.  This sin side, which is today being evidenced here by the Humas, is simply opposition to God.  Separation from God is death in the spiritual realm.  To be sure, not all Jews are faithful to God, nor do they honor God properly, none of us humans do.  But Jews are special, chosen by God bring forth his message of Love and forgiveness to this lost sinful world.

Take note that as this war evolves the masses of people protesting in the streets here and in Europe are not supporting the victims here, the Israelis, but the Palestinians, protesting that Israel is too brutal in their revenge on Humas and the poor downtrodden Palestinians trapped in Gaza.  Some Muslims cry these Hamas are not us; but they allow them to live in their midst, they share the same religion and acknowledge that the Koran does endorse Jihad, they cheer for them as heroes when they kill and butcher Americans and Jews.  If the Palestinians will not police their own cities then they are the same as Hamas.  If the world does not stop Humas, that is all the radical Muslims, them they intend to kill us.  Their goal is to have a Muslim controlled world, which would be very brutal.

Many of our own citizens are caught up in the demonstrations because they do not belong to God and don’t want to trust Him with their lives, they enjoy sin in all its manifestations, mostly power, money, and sex.  And some with lots of money are providing large amounts of money to keep these protesters funded and on the streets.  The workers I know are working and don’t have time to be gluing themselves to the highways or walls in museums, protesting the past that provided them the good life they are rebelling against.

Look at Europe; France, Germany, and the Scandinavian countries who accepted hordes of Arabs into their countries and now are looking for ways to export them as they are not like us and do not live the same way we do and will eventually destroy these countries.  They will not accept our rules of LAW and by the simple birthrates will take over the elections in a couple of decades.  So we are back to the questions of the crusades and driving the Moors out of Spain, how do we get these people, some of whom we stupidly granted citizenship, out of our country?

And be aware of Allah and don't take Him for granted.  Who is this God they worship?  Could He is also be our God, that the Muslims have so misjudged his character of love?  The Catholic church during the Spanish Inquisition was pretty bad in many ways and did not represent God's Love either.  I suggest you read the prophecies of Daniel and watch them being fulfilled.  We are approaching the days when God’s long enduring patience is ended, and the judgement will start.

To Addisson with love,

Good day Addisson,

Grandma and I love you and talk a lot about you, as well as Quinlyn and Asa IV, these days.  We think about you and pray about you a lot.  For you are on a curious path in life and asking us to help support you on that journey.  But we are not sure you have much of an idea where that journey is taking you.  And perhaps that is not bad, but it leaves us concerned for you and your preparation to take care of yourself in the future.  We will not be providing this current support forever.  Right now, it is in the range of $30,000 a year, and all we are getting from you is that you are seeking fluency in Mandarin Chinese.  There are well over a billion people in the world fluent in Mandarin Chinese.  What use is another fluent person and how does she hope to support herself in this life?  Where does Mandrin Chinese fit into her life?

I recently read a quote from Eric Hoffer, called The Longshoreman Philosopher, which was interesting.  He wrote: “God has implanted in us the seeds of all greatness and it behooves us to see to it that the seeds germinate, grow, and come to flower.  We must see learning and growing as a sort of worship.  For God has implanted capacities and talents in us, and it is our sacred duty to finish God’s work.”  Hoffer also stated that a writer must above all entertain the reader.  So, to write and grow God’s given talent is needed, but we should make it interesting to the reader, even entertaining.  You might be in exactly the right place for God to use you, are you aware of any calling to use this Mandarin Chinese?

Now that you are not attending classes, have you had time to become more fluent or finish your TEFL course?  You are not in Taipei to have a long vacation or travel tour, unless you are writing a travel book or column.  What are you doing?

Well, Grandma and I are not writers, but we have pursued our talents, simpler than writers, but servants are a talented group also, and one often discussed in the Bible.  God has a high appreciation for faithful servants.  Be it just cleaning up the kitchen, doing the laundry, or providing income to support the family’s extra expenses.  Grandma and I are faithful servants.  And to be sure, God has blessed us.  This extended family we live in is a blessing.

So I ask you to think about your position right now, respond with some of your thoughts, and let us know what our oldest granddaughter is doing these days.  And as always Stay close to God and His Love - Focus your life on God and His goodness and share his love and ask for His guidance.

Stay close to God and His Love - Stay away from all forms of occult.

Focus your life on God and His goodness and you will not have to worry about the occult.

Occult would include Ouija boards, seances, fortune telling, psychic reading, all these are forms of opening the underworld.  It is a form of divination.  Divination and other occult practices are condemned in the Bible numerous times.  The very action of using a Ouija board has profound spiritual consequences that are beyond our control, whenever we seek to engage demons, we move away from the One True God.  Stay away from all forms of occult practices — by staying close to God.  If you have questions pray in the spirit.

Divination is discussed in the Bible and condemned as is witchcraft and other methods of sorcery and magic.  A more prevalent form of occult presently is the stories from the occult; stories creating another world that people get entranced in.  The evil world is full of creative creatures who are willing to help popular authors and screenwriters draft exciting and perverse stories that capture people’s attention.  They are particularly anxious to help the songwriters create rhythms and lyrics that capture people’s attention and lock into their memories.  Musical hits are important.  And these demons start young, junior high school is not too early to get the children hooked.

Witch of Endor by Nikolai Ge, 1857.Angels, demons, spirits and souls do exist.  We have a spirit and a soul and a body.  We are like God in many ways.  He created us in His image.  Angles, demons (fallen angles) and other spirits do not have these qualities.  Some people claim there are three levels of demon activity in our lives: temptation – which we all experience, obsession – when demons torment a person mentally, physically, and emotionally, and then possession – when the demon takes control of the person’s being, the demon actually doing things in this real world via the possessed person.  These can all be intermittent, occurring at times and not at other times.

Demon possession is not so well recognized these days, few people are looking for signs.  But some of the heinous crimes and atrocities of war are committed by possessed people.  One recently interrogated Humas terrorist was himself appalled at some of the things they had done.  He said, “We became like animals,” and our religion does not teach that.  Might these be the words of a demon possessed man?  Remember that there is much more to this world than meets the eye, or can be measured by our five senses of our fancy instruments.  We may say that we don’t believe in all that spirit stuff, but if we really didn’t believe, scary movies would not be scary.

So focus on God, avoid unholy things.  As you focus on God and love your neighbor, you will not be a victim of these demons.

ISRAEL STRIKES BACK AT HAMAS

 Good day children,

Israel destroying Hamas - Today I want to discuss this most important subject, the ongoing war in the middle east.  Humas has attached Israel, and brutally, even by the standards of the radical Muslims!

This is not a new war; it is not just about the current state of Israel created after WWI via the Balfour Declaration, it is about the battle between God and sin.  Not that all the Arabs are sinners, but that if you are not born again and on God’s side, accepting Him, through Jesus Christ, as your Redeemer you are on the other side, the sin side.  This sin side, which is today being evidenced here by the Humas, is simply opposition to God.  Separation from God is death in the spiritual realm.  To be sure, not all Jews are faithful to God, nor do they honor God properly, none of us humans do.  But God chose the Jews to bring forth his message of Love and forgiveness to this lost sinful world, this special calling, by itself, is enough to cause the sinners of the world, most humans, to despise Israel.  It also shows that the call for peace in the Middle East is not a realistic hope.

The fact that man sinned started man’s war with God, but God did not destroy us immediately because He knew He would provide a Redeemer.  He knew that we would be incapable of resisting the dark side of life; doubt, pride, fear, envy, hate, greed, lust, indifference to the poor and needy, accepting injustice to others.  He purposely created us with free will, knowing the price He would have to pay.  In His planning for His extended family, so He could adopt those of us who chose the salvation He offered to us, He provided the redemption we would need.  A death sacrifice, the actual death of a Perfect Man, a Man who was actually God at the same time, Jesus Christ.  Foretold by the prophets, this God-Man did arrive, preached Love and forgiveness and power, established the core of His followers, made the required sacrifice on a Roman cross, rose from death victorious, commissioned His followers, and returned to the realms of heaven.  WOW! All in the span of a young man’s live, Jesus was only in His thirties when He was crucified.

Take note that as this war evolves the masses of people protesting in the streets are not supporting the victims here, the Israels, but the Humas who they say are representing the so called downtrodden Palestinians who the European powers and the hated Jews have driven off their land after WWI and into the dreadful refuge camps that are now almost 100 years old.  None of the Arab states want to help the Palestinians recover or rebuild, the Palestinians are a pawn they are using in their continuous publicity campaign to discredit Israel.  These Arab states only want one thing, Israel destroyed.  These are the same people in the streets cheering when the World Trade Centers were destroyed, when the US marine barrack was bombed, and now when Israel is attached and butchered.  These demonstrators represent the Muslim religion.  Some Muslims cry these Hamas are not us, but they allow them to live in their midst, they share the same religion and acknowledge that the Koran does endorse Jihad, they cheer for them when they kill and butcher Americans and Jews.  If they will not police their own cities then they are the same as Hamas.  If the world does not stop them they intend to kill us.  Their goal is to have a Muslim controlled world, which would be very much less populated.  Many of our own citizens are caught up in the demonstrations because they do not belong to God and don’t want to trust Him with their lives.

View Europe, especially France, they welcomed these people, Muslims, in because they are liberal and want to show the world that they accept everyone, just as we have to some extent.  We will accept them with open arms and they will be good citizens because that is what we expect of them.  Most of the world laughs at us, they do not trust the Arabs or allow them in.  Only President Trump has been smart and bold enough to stop even travelers from these nations.  To be honest, Muslims cannot adjust to our way of life and many like their way better, at least till the end results are shown.

And be aware that as this story unfolds that one-by-one the prophecies of Daniel and the other prophets are being fulfilled.  We are approaching the days when God’s long enduring patience is ended, and the judgement will start.

Love - not the LAW

 Good morning Children,

A verse to consider today, Matthew 22:40, NKJVOn these two commandments hang all the Law and the Prophets.

And the preceding commandments are: :37 And He said to him, “‘You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind.  :38 This is the great and foremost commandment.  :39 “The second is like it, You shall love your neighbor as yourself .” So you see from these words of Jesus that the LAW and the entire Bible are not a series of DO NOTs, as you might get from many people focusing on the Old Testament’s 10 commandments, but a simple instruction to love God and your neighbor.  The LAW and the 10 commandments are a follow on to the children of Israel when they would not follow the simple Love instructions.

Today’s world is a rough place to grow up, both in the time period and the political and physical conditions, it is getting harder to have the God-given freedoms and safety in the streets that we Americans, Citizens of the United States of America, have come to accept as common.  The chaos that the radical left-wing establishment is trying to create is directly focused on their rebellion against God, they cannot love or understand love or actually understand their hate.  They are out of touch with their inner God-created self.  So they are pushing to have no controls or normal limits as displayed in their attack on Whiteness, whatever that is, most of it reads like any parent's love and concern for their children.  We can discuss that later, but a big push for chaos is on Sex, a very favorite subject with people.  The EEE advocates see it as a way to break down the family and create depression and hate in young people.  Sex is not new, most of the biological kingdoms reproduce by sex, male and female.  God discusses it in Genesis.  David, a man after God’s own heart violated all the sexual rules and paid the penalties for his sins, but he loved God.  God forgives all sin if we ask Him for forgiveness.  He is much more interested in us living in Love than catching us in some sin.

And Jesus himself grew up in occupied Palestine with the Roman army in control, that is who crucified Him, the Roman governor, and his troops.  Jesus grew up in Nazarene a Roman garrison town and after His crucifixion the early church thrived in Antioch, another major Roman garrison town.  These were raw brutal towns, there was no sin today that would not have been evident in these towns, Jesus is aware and as I said before God is not surprised.

So mature into the person you want to be and God wants you to be.  Accept who you are, make the most of it, good and not so good.  Love God and your fellow man and God will bless you.  He does know you and He loves you,

Juneteenth - a day to celebrate the USA

Good day children, Some thoughts on God and the United States,

This week we celebrate Juneteenth, an unusual national holiday.  It celebrates the final implementation of the Emancipation Proclamation, on June 19th, 1865 in Galveston, Texas.  It might be our best national holiday celebrating the end of our civil war and marks a critical event in our nation’s history.

As you travel the world in your foreign exchange experiences you have run into many people who question the United States’ history and motives and ask your opinion.  I am sorry to say that your schooling has been sadly deficient in preparing you to respond to these inquiries.  And that is not a local Alexandria Central School issue, it is an organized effort by the social justice warriors and the EEE to diminish our pride in our country and further their twisted agenda.  They have focused on the school systems for several decades and the silent majority has been too busy working to pay attention.  Hopefully that is changing now that the pendulum has swung so far away from freedom that the silent majority has to stop and take notice of this enormous failure of our education system.  But that is for a later discussion.

I want to say that, as with Juneteenth, we have had many periods and events in our past to be proud of, to reflect on, and to appreciate the thought, efforts and sacrifices that prior citizens of our country have made to create our United States of today, 2023.  You have many reasons to be grateful to be an American, and proud of our families’ part as citizens of the USA the greatest country in the world.  Speaking for my family my father served in the US Army and fought in Africa and Italy as part of the Army’s heavy armor, 752 Tank Battalion which had the longest continuous deployment of WW II.  They fought in North Africa – Sicily – Italy – and held Tito at bay in the mountain pass above Trieste, Italy.  As a US Army Ranger, my brother dropped into Granada under heavy Russian fire.  When he was awarded his Ranger Badge he was the youngest E-5 in the Army.   I served 6 years in UIS Nuclear Navy under Admiral Rickover’s command.  The US’s strongest cold war deterrent, a far-reaching projection of power.  As President Kennedy said you can be proud if you served in the US Navy, and he was a Democrat I believe.  Grandma’s uncle served in WWII in the Philippines and was tortured in the infamous Battan March, there is a bridge in Westmorland Co, PA memorializing the local citizens who were captured and tortured in Battan.  Several of your mother’s family were veterans who served in various wars.  Sadly, we have not recorded our families’ history here in the North as much as other cultures have, even our own southern states.

Many citizens from Pennsylvania and New York and other norther states fought in the Civil War to end legalized slavery here in the US.  The Civil War was a brutal war, it was the first industrialized war and the casualties were staggering on both sides, and we were both sides, the North and the South; it was the worse war in our history.  Civil war to end slavery - 620,000, WWII -  405,399, WWI – 116, 516, Viet Nam – 58,209, (these are from Statista.com.)  The United States lost about 25% of our young men during the Civil War.  To end what we determined was an evil that we could not allow to exist in our country.  Slavery and racism are not the same subject and we are working on racism, but many have made racism a major business.  These peddlers of victimism, are like the EEE merchants, they have an agenda that they want to impose on the country to further their own goals, and those goals are not necessarily good for any race living here in the United States.

The founding fathers and their wives and families paid a big price to gain our independence.  Their thoughts were based on what they considered were certain God given rights, natural rights, inalienable rights; for a human being to make their own decisions, live life as they choose within a reasonable government framework.  A representative republic.  We, the citizens of the United States, have a long and bloody past because freedom is not free.  There will always be someone who wants to control what you do, what you say, and even what you think.  Skip the trash on TV or Netflix some night and read the Federalists Papers, the Constitution, the Declaration of Independence, or even 1984 and Animal Farm.  We have a lot to be proud of, I particularly like the idea of the Electoral College, the founders of our country were brilliant.  The later Senate and House of Representatives election process goes on to emphasize that.

Thank God for our country and continue to pray for it, and spend some time reading your history, but be careful to understand who the author of the history is and their motives.  Liars talk at cocktail parties, town meetings, and in church.  But, they also write school text books, popular novels, and history books.

MORE THOUGHTS ON GOD

Good day children, More thoughts on God.

Philippians 4, KJV  “

My guidance
Therefore, my brethren dearly beloved and longed for, my joy and crown, so stand fast in the Lord, my dearly beloved.  I beseech Euodias, and beseech Syntyche, that they be of the same mind in the Lord.  And I intreat thee also, true yokefellow, help those women which laboured with me in the gospel, with Clement also, and with other my fellow labourers, whose names are in the book of life.  Rejoice in the Lord always: and again I say, Rejoice.  Let your moderation be known unto all men. The Lord is at hand.  Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.  And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.  Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.”

With an ongoing breakdown in our society, I would like to comment on a few events to you.  Not the Bud Light or Target fiascos with their pushing the radical sexual agendas, or the shootings, or the riots in the cities, but God’s events.  God has good things planned for you, look for them, expect them.  This passage promises God’s peace to us.  These words from Paul were written several thousand years ago and translated into the King's English for King James several hundred years ago, but they still are true.  It is still good advice to know God’s word, study it, and apply it to our lives.  Paul says: “… whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.”  Try to live in this manner, look to God for guidance, for hope, for love.  There is a constant agitation in this world to worry, to feel threatened, to be angry and hateful.  Jesus said to “…fear not.”  But that is hard for some of us, and the media/news and government and the drug companies all profit if we fear and they sell that fear product.  The gloom merchants, EEE.  God loves all mankind and wants to bless us all no matter who we think we are.

And while there are real issues in this world that need resolved, don’t become bound by them, or focus on them, FEAR NOT.  I believe that FEAR is one of the principalities and powers that God warns us about.  FEAR NOT, is not just about occasional thoughts, but about letting this evil spirit of fear take up residency in our minds.  So, FEAR NOT!  Look, listen, read this love letter from God, and pray to our God.  Then pray some more, go out and act in a loving way, and talk to your friends and neighbors and tell them why you are not afraid.  Because we believe in a good GOD.  And he knows what is best for us.

And remember even when we are surprised, God is not, and He is thinking of you, personally.

We are eternal, what does that mean?

Good day children, More thoughts on God.  This note will be short, though the subject is not.  The God that we believe in states that He is eternal.  Before time and after time He exists.  He called Himself, “I am”.  Eternal – what does this word mean, what does it mean to us?

A couple of weeks ago I discussed God’s love letter to us, our Bible.  This letter from God is not infinite, but God is so just how long is the time discussed in the Bible?  The Bible says that “in the beginning, the Word was,” just what beginning are we discussing here?  The beginning of time as we humans know it.  Now, with the science we have today, we have a better idea of just how long the time is, the creation of the universes, and the formation and aging of the planets, ours in particular.  Recent analysis of the helium 3 to helium 4 ratios at Yellowstone and other volcanic hot spots provide some amazing aging data.  So our planet is old, very old.  And the Bible states that God was there and created it with assistance from Wisdom.  So, from before the start of our time or the big bang, or whatever you want to describe it as, the Word of God was there.

So time is old; that is the past, but how long will time last?  That is in the future.  The Bible describes that in The Revelation to John by Jesus Christ.  That end could be close, as many believe based on a lot of Biblical references, particularly Daniel’s.  But many have felt the end was near many times in the past 2000 years since Christ was born and died and was raised again.  So again, we do not know.  And as opposed to the past, there is no way to measure the future.

However, the Bible is clear, there was a beginning, there was a past, there is a now, and there is a future.  These are all time elements.  But eternity is not limited by these time elements.  So before time God existed and created other beings and locations, and He also exists in the future when our time will have ended.  So, we humans are also eternal beings.  I can not say we existed prior to our conception by our parents; there is no reference to us having a prior existence that I know of, but there is a lot of details in creation we are not privy to.  However, the Bible clearly states that we are eternal and will continue to exist forever with God.  And forever is like eternal, longer than we can actually imagine.  God painted a magnificent story for us in the Bible, but it is only a picture of our time that we live in, it does not encompass all of His eternity.  Our life here is a preparation for entering eternity as a child of God, or not.  At the end of our time, we will not cease to exist, that is not an option. There are only two options, leave time and go to God, or leave time and go to hell.

The EEE gloom merchants

Good day children, I have more thoughts on God.  As I grow older and take more time to think, the more thoughts I have about this person we call God.

Luke 10:22 – “All things have been handed over to Me by My Father, and no one knows who the Son is except the Father, and who the Father is except the Son, and anyone to whom the Son wills to reveal Him.”

And at the present way too many of us are not connecting to Jesus as He wants us to; as children of God, as His own brothers and sisters.  This is a hard time in the earth as the merchants of gloom try to spread fear among the populations, even to the children of God in the church if that is possible.  One of my favorite saying of God’ is “Fear not.”  Yet the gloom merchants are selling fear in the form or disease like this covid plague from China sponsored by USA research funds.  They also are selling environmental gloom from many things, but mainly carbon, because so much of the world’s energy comes from carbon fuels, and we could go nuclear, but that is really dangerous they say.  And then there is starvation of the masses, but we should not eat GMO, because they are really dangerous, etc. etc.

The devil, the evil forces in this world are spreading these lies and fears and we are being told them by the consolidated merchants of gloom, EEE, economists, environmentalists, and unfortunately educators.  Two of the most outrageous ones to me recently are the group proposing the voluntary extermination of human beings, the Voluntary Human Extinction Movement (VHEMT) which is an environmental movement calling for all people to abstain from reproduction in order to cause the gradual voluntary extinction of humankind. VHEMT supports human extinction primarily because, in the group's view, it would prevent environmental degradation.  Saving the planet for whom or what?  This is extreme and not likely to gain great support.  However, the Shakers were convinced to try this approach and they are gone, so perhaps…

With this extreme approach unlikely to be well received, a more sinister approach, perhaps something that Hitler would have liked, is to call for the voluntary mass suicide of the elderly generation that is not producing at the moment, but due to careful planning and organization are still consuming a lot of the resources.  This was suggested for Japan with its very large elderly population and very low birth rate.  This recent suggestion by a Japanese professor teaching at Yale was called 'inappropriate' but understandable by a Japanese commentator.

This is the devil’s evil work, if he can’t defeat God, he is trying to destroy God’s prize creation, mankind.  As in Milton’s epic poem, “Paradise Lost” the evil in satan is unable to see mankind survive.  God says “fear not,” satan through the EEE says fear everything!  Jesus died for all us people, and His world can sustain all us people until the end as described in Revelation comes, do not listen to these lies.

Be aware of what you see and hear, what you read, the shows you watch. if any of this stuff centers on evil and fear you are falling in satan’s trap.  Enjoy life, fear not, follow your brother Jesus Christ.

God is CS Lewis quotes

Here are some quotes from C. S. Lewis a great Christian writer from the last century.  He was not a preacher, but a writer who sought to explain why he was a Christian.  You could do well to read a couple of his works.  The Chronicles of Nardia were his.  He was one of the three Inklings. as they called themselves, that wrote at that time.  I am using his quotes to close out my 2022 thoughts, not because I have nothing to say, but because sometimes you find someone who does things better than you can do them.  These are short quotes, but very well-stated and very focused.  I would like to add one thought to them, C.S. Lewis stated that “You are never too old to set another goal or to dream a new dream.”  I would like to add to that thought that also you are never too young.

I have found a desire within myself that no experience in this world can satisfy; the most probable explanation is that I was made for another world.

I believe in Christianity as I believe that the sun has risen: not only because I see it, but because by it I see everything else.

You are never too old to set another goal or to dream a new dream.

Friendship is unnecessary, like philosophy, like art... It has no survival value; rather it is one of those things that give value to survival.

Courage is not simply one of the virtues, but the form of every virtue at the testing point.

True humility is not thinking less of yourself; it is thinking of yourself less.

God cannot give us a happiness and peace apart from Himself, because it is not there. There is no such thing.

A man can no more diminish God's glory by refusing to worship Him than a lunatic can put out the sun by scribbling the word 'darkness' on the walls of his cell.

Aim at heaven and you will get earth thrown in. Aim at earth and you get neither.

Friendship is born at that moment when one person says to another: What! You too? I thought I was the only one.

Dream big, believe your God loves you and cares for you.  Spend more time reading His messages to you than the popular friction of the day.  And constantly be aware of the worldview of the people you are listening to.  Be they teachers, professors, newscasters, doctors, lawyers, friends, or relatives.  God bless you, Grandma and I are praying for you and we love you.

God said FEAR NOT

Good day children, More thoughts on God.

God sent us a love letter; we call it the Bible.  It is a very unique love letter, in that it proposes to contain all the guidance you will need to live a good life.  A godly life.  Now a good life and a Godly life does not mean an easy life.  There will be hardships and suffering and pain.  When your father died so early it was a huge impact on all of us, you as his children, your mother as his wife, and Grandma and I as his parents.  So how do we get through these hard times?  Love God and love each other.  Pray and trust God to be with us and provide the guidance we need to get through these situations.  One of God’s instructions to us is to: “FEAR NOT.”  He is God, He can provide for us, in every way, with love, with favor, with resources.  As He told Joshua fear not, have faith, He tells us the same.  He even cares for the sparrows.  So Fear Not!

With a major midterm election this coming week the political machines have been in high gear for the last couple of months.  There is way too much fear being sent out by these organizations.  I agree with the conservatives who are disgusted with the current state of the USA under this liberal democratic government and wish to see major changes, but we survived the Clinton and Obama governments, this one too will pass.  The liberal organizations are pushing fear of almost everything.  Fear of the conservatives, fear of climate change, fear of using fossil fuels and private cars and houses, fear of covid, fear of Trump, fear of the police (unless they want their house protected), fear of guns (again unless they want their house protected), and it goes on and on.  Fear of going to school in a building named after a president that at one time owned a slave, and all the other woke nonsense.

And while all of those are real issues to those who believe in them and focus on them, I believe that FEAR is one of the principalities and powers that God warns us about.  FEAR NOT, is not just about occasional thoughts, but about letting this evil spirit of fear take up residency in our minds.  So FEAR NOT!  Look, listen, read this love letter, and pray to our God.  Then pray some more, go out and Vote, and talk to your friends and neighbors and tell them why you are not afraid.  Because we believe in a good GOD.  And he knows what is best for us.

And remember even when we are surprised, God is not, and He is thinking of you, personally.

Pray and fear not!

Good day Grandchildren, Grandma and I love you.

As you know and as I posted on Facebook it is election season here in the USA and I want you to think about it.

WOW!  Did I recently say that the political machines are cranking up?  Well my mail box and email inbox are FULL of political advertisements and pushing and shoving things!  Give now to I. M. Apolitician, I will work with the opposition to correct these terrible conditions! Ect. Etc. Etc.  Cheryl and I did think about the candidates, and we did donate to the one that impacts us the most and does actually seem to understand what the role of an elected official should be.  So, that is that and all these other assaults on our peace and quiet are wasted efforts.  But in fact, someone is spending their election campaign funds to prepare and send these things around, it is a major industry for some people.  Reminds me of the people sending around notes that I should be getting my covid booster, etc.  Another major industry.

Again as a Christian man, a husband, father, and grandfather I want to offer my advice to anyone who wants to hear it, especially my family.  And my advice is to pray.  Sounds simple, but we Christians, the body of Christ, are not as engaged as we should be.  Focused, intense prayer.  Talk to God about this.

So here is my recommendation from the New King James Version, 1 Timothy 2:1-3 -1.     Therefore I [a]exhort first of all that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks be made for all men, 2.     for kings and all who are in [b]authority, that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and [c]reverence. 3.     For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior,

And specifically I would say do not be afraid.  God says “Fear not”.  Paul expressed it as “For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.” ~ 2 Timothy 1:7.  Now, many of  the liberal press and faithless people in general want to silence us, they describe our Christian teachings as hate speech, because they do not want to achnowledge sin.  Sin in the world and sin in our lives.  So back to basics, pray for this election, the candidates, all those in authority, and especially our families and children.

Our Christian Duty to Pray and Vote

 Good day grandchildren,

As I posted my election thoughts on Facebook today to those who see my thoughts (?), I am also posting to you.  Addisson, you can vote and even in Taiwan, it is a duty you should perform.  Get your absentee ballot submitted.

Fall is here, and here in Upstate New York winter is approaching.  And soon the 2022 elections will be held.  As all the pre-election political machines are cranking up we are unfortunately hearing a lot of negative propaganda.

I, as a Christian man, a husband, father, and grandfather want to offer my advice to anyone who wants to hear it, especially my family.  And my advice is to pray.  Sounds simple, but we Christians, the body of Christ, are not as engaged as we should be.  So here is my recommendation from the New King James Version, 1 Timothy 2:1-3 -

1.     Therefore I [a]exhort first of all that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks be made for all men,

2.     for kings and all who are in [b]authority, that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and [c]reverence.

3.     For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior,

You can see that God does expect Christians to think about and pray for their government. God expects us to pray with thankfulness and intensity for our leaders.  However, I am disappointed in myself and many of my Christian friends. 1 Timothy 2:1-3 are favorite verses in the church, and while I hear a lot of criticism for President Biden and the congress, I hear few prayers being offered.  We must pray, as directed, for our leaders, the President, Senators, Representatives, national, and

local leaders, and judges.  Whether you agree with them or not, pray for them, God cares and, will hold them responsible for their actions and us for our prayers or lack thereof.  God is not surprised that these people got elected or appointed. And God is not so weak that He cannot fix our leaders and country.

So pick out some of the leaders that represent you, from the local to the President, and pray for them.  And of course pray for this election, from the candidates that will represent you to the local election officials.  They all are important in this republic we live in.

Pray for Our Leaders

Good day children,

I would like you to read the following four translations of the same scripture today.  They express slightly different attitudes, but all share the same message.

1 Timothy 2:1-3 - New King James Version
Therefore I
exhort first of all that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks be made for all men, for kings and all who are in authority, that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and reverence. For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior,

1 Timothy 2:1-3 - 21st Century King James Version
I exhort therefore, first of all, that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks be made for all men,2 for kings and for all who are in authority, that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty.  3 For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior,

1 Timothy 2:1-3 - The Message
1-3 The first thing I want you to do is pray. Pray every way you know how, for everyone you know. Pray especially for rulers and their governments to rule well so we can be quietly about our business of living simply, in humble contemplation. This is the way our Savior God wants us to live.

1 Timothy 2:1-3 - The Passion Translation
Most of all, I’m writing to encourage you to pray with gratitude to God. Pray for all men with all forms of prayers and requests as you intercede with intense passion. 2 And pray for every political leader and representative so that we would be able to live tranquil, undisturbed lives, as we worship the awe-inspiring God with pure hearts. 3 It is pleasing to our Savior-God to pray for them.

You can see from this verse that God does expect Christians to think about and pray for their government.  God expects us to pray with thankfulness and intensity for our leaders.  Politics has been the main news item for the last couple of years now.  In fact, I started to write these notes just prior to past president Trump’s declaration that he was going to run for office.  I was concerned about the extreme liberal bias in the press and the career politicians.  The results speak for themselves and you are more than capable of evaluating the current condition of our country.

However, I am disappointed in myself and many of my Christian friends.  1 Timothy 2:1-3 are favorite verses in the church, and while I hear a lot of criticism for President Biden, I hear few prayers.  We need to pray, as directed, for our leaders; President, Senators, Representatives, national, local, and judges.   Whether we agree with them or not, pray for them, God cares and, will hold them responsible for their actions and us for our prayers or lack thereof.  God is not surprised that these people got elected or appointed.  He is not so weak that He can not fix our leaders and country.

So pick out some of the leaders that represent you, from the local to the President, and pray for them.

Memorial Day 2022

 Memorial Day 2022

As a Christian husband and father, I have been remiss in celebrating Memorial Day.  It was a big holiday when I was a little boy, but always full of tension.  Both sides of my family, the Prices and the Reeds celebrated, but the difference in the celebrations was significant.  The Reed boys had mostly served in the Army during WWII and when returning home joined the local veteran clubs, the VFW or the American Legion.  We lived out in the country, the Kingston area, and my dad and other local veterans got together and built their own club, the Kingston Veterans & Sportsman Club.  Dad always took us to the local memorial services.  After the local parade and 21 gun salutes at the cemetery or local memorial, the Reed celebrations were much like you see on beer commercials today; beer, songs, laughter, ball games, and more beer, until the fighting started.  That is usually left out of the commercials.  The next day it was always hard to get back to work.

The Price side of the family was much more religious, attending the small Assembly of God church in Bradenville and did not drink at all, at least the women.  So mom and dad never agreed on attending the family celebrations, regardless of the holiday.  While the Reed celebrations were certainly more exciting, they never seemed to end well.  Memorial Day at the Price family was a much-subdued affair.  Religious is not the same as Christianity, but gets confused.

But I have avoided the conflict, by doing nothing.  Which was not the right course to take.  I should have taken my family to the local celebrations and honored those who served the country during the wars.  I should have been more involved in the politics of my country on many issues.  But this issue also overlaps onto my Christian life.  We celebrate Christmas and Easter and Thanksgiving, but do I do enough to celebrate these special days?  Do I acknowledge God’s grace to us and honor God-like family members who have gone before?  My sister Margie and I were talking about becoming invisible to the following generations in the family.  Should we honor some of our worthy ancestors more than we have?  Do we have any of their photos on our walls?  Do stories of spiritual victories get passed down to our children?  Do we collect them and tell them and retell them, like precious family legends?

My Grandma Price was a prayer warrior, full of the Holy Spirit and communicating with God.  My mother and Cheryl’s Grandma Whitehead were other Godly women.  Dad was in the 752 Armored Division and served for over 400 days at the front lines in Africa and Italy because the USA could not provide tank or soldiers replacements fast enough to make up for the losses to Rommel’s German tanks.  Uncle Charles on Cheryl’s side was in the horrific Bataan March in the Philippines.  Life on this wicked earth is not easy, and we must be aware of those who sacrificed and protected our freedoms, in our country, and in God.

Making Decisions, Just Like God Does.

A door
Being a Christian is to be like God. God opens doors, but he does not push us through the door.  He also shuts doors, but He does not prevent us from going around the closed door.  And as we wrestle with life decisions, I think we need to understand an important truth: God’s primary will for us is the God-like person we become.  We are to be God's image here on Earth.

Paul, an apostle of God says that God “chose us in [Christ] before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and blameless before Him” (Ephesians 1:4).  In other words, we must strive to recognize that God’s primary will for our lives is not our job, how wealthy we are, where we live, or who we know; it’s who we become.  God’s basic desire for our lives is that we become people of excellent character and divine love.  Become God-like, being both holy and blameless, loving as God loves.  This does not point to perfection, only God is perfect.

Making decisions is an indispensable tool in the formation of excellent persons.  A big part of our job as Christians is to develop the capability to make God-like decisions ourselves.  Can you imagine if we always had to ask someone else to make our decisions for us?  Or if we lived in a situation where we are not allowed to make any decisions for ourselves?  That is life in a Marxist, or any dictatorial, regime.  This is living in sin and under the world’s control.  God desires that we, you and I, become truly God-like people, He insists that we make our own decisions.  God-like people with excellent will, judgment, and character get formed in no other way.  We make one God-like decision after another; many are about small issues; some are major issues.

I think the same is true of God’s will for a person's life, it will often be “You decide.”  Sometimes you pray for direction, and God seems to say “You choose.”  That means God cares more about our decision-making and our character than specifics like colleges, careers, cars, houses, etc.  Don't misunderstand, sometimes God really does have a specific assignment for specific people, like Moses taking on Pharaoh, or Saul becoming Paul, and God is able and willing to make this clear.  When the burning bush or the blinding light is necessary, the burning bush or blinding light will be there.  But much of the time, wisdom itself will actually guide us on the right course, if there actually is a "right" choice, in these big decisions.  God says He will give wisdom to those who ask, so ask for wisdom.  Be aware you are God-like, seek wisdom, and be aware of God’s presence, make God-like decisions.

A lack of specific guidance from heaven regarding which decision to choose does not mean God or we have failed.  Very often it is just the opposite: God knows we grow more from making a decision than if we were to get a clear, command from heaven that would prevent us from growing at all.  And we have a very limited view, our little decision may have a major impact on a fellow Christian.  So, practice, and make good God-like decisions on all your choices.  Each choice is an opportunity to practice.

The American Dream – 2nd level responsibility

Hello grandchildren - The American Dream – 2nd level responsibility

As I stated before the American Dream is a simple concept, the freedom to do what you want to do without the constant coercive micromanagement of a police state*.  That is simple to understand, but hard to implement.  Democracies are not really possible, a republic like the US is possible, but still hard to implement and maintain.  Many think it is also impossible over the long run.  Do the math, we in the USA are having a hard time and from 1776 until 2022 is only 246 years, hardly a blip in recorded history.  If this concept of a government by the people is confusing you need to study to be

able to understand the key concepts of freedom and citizenship in our government*.

Freedom, it is more than just your current personal freedom, it is your responsibility to keep this freedom and nurture it for yourself, your family, and others in the community, both now and into our future generations.  Freedom is not free or maintained without effort.

Do not confuse your governmental freedom with Christianity or Godliness, God, as Jesus Christ came to earth through the Jewish nation and they were not a democracy.  He arrived and started His church during the Roman empire, it was not a democracy.  A person’s relationship with God is not dependent on the government they live under.  The government certainly impacts your ability to worship God as you chose, but not your commitment to God.

You have been cheated by our education system which has turned from a classical conservative education system, enabling our further citizens, into a technological training system for workers.  Workers do not need freedom; just do your job, produce or distribute whatever you are assigned, then go home at night and watch or participate in your favorite entertainment, sports, movies, video games, etc.  The education system has abandoned the essential study of history both American and our republican government which must be understood*.  This republican system has been building and maturing since the early feudal days of England.  It was expensive in terms of lives and thought.  If you want to see how it can be mishandled read on the French Revolution and the rise of Napoleon*.

In my humble opinion, I believe this current dysfunctional educational system change was driven by two major issues.  The first is the need for skilled workers in the free enterprise economy.  We have allowed the economy to decide what is important and what is not.  This has been a bad decision.

The second is the American ideal that all people and ideas are created equal.  Many people and politicians are unwilling to accept or admit that some ideas and systems are better than others.  Some call it elitism to consider that some ideas are better than others, I call it pragmatic (or realistic).  Our system is unparalleled in the world today and will continue to be if we can maintain it.  We are a country that welcomes all, but they must become Americans.  This is not working at present.  Americans must have a common concept of freedom, of how our government works, understand English law and freedom and the ideas being discussed and be willing to become American citizens.  Not expatriates from their old countries living here and wanting the USA to be like their old country.

Love Grandpap,
